The incredible story of Basil D’Oliveira, a coloured cricketer, after playing for only allowed non-white league in South Africa, later went professional for an English team, Middleton, which initially did not select him to play an international match against his native country. This produced outrage in England and lead to full sporting isolation of apartheid South Africa.
