Madame Oui and I made the most of the sunny weekend. Went to Cloughy beach — well, a secret location nearby!
On the Saturday, we enjoyed feeling the heat of the sun, but the breeze was a chilly one. We lasted a couple of hours. Stopped by a Maud’s ice cream shop for a poke, as you do whenever you get the chance here.
We returned on Sunday, when it was even warmer — may have even hit 80 degrees. Found a more sheltered spot and lasted all afternoon. It felt great, almost like being on holiday. Indeed, Madame Oui said that this was what summers used to be like when she was a kid.
In absolutely no rush to return home, we attempted to have dinner at The Quays, Portavogie, but alas booked out. So we ventured into Donaghadee for some delicious scampi and sea bass at Pier 36.
It only got dark as we headed home. The way it should be.
