Box.net: iPhone app review

Media_http3bpblogspot_gtqtl

The Box.net iPhone app was a long wait, and the first versions not so special to write home about, but with version 2.0 it is a viable online file sharing tool. Now, Box.net does not provide two-way syncing: you can’t edit or upload new documents from your iPhone to your Box.net account. But all your files already uploaded are presented on your iPhone, where you can view, comment, share, and preview. A major improvement from previous app versions is the ability to initiate emailing a doc without having to preview it first; particularly useful with larger docs. The latest version provides multiuser commenting as a collaboration tool. I use Box.net to keep core files that may prove useful when moving about, e.g. emailing a conference paper to someone as we’re talking about it.
