Allan wants to attend 2008 DNC

I submitted the following story with my donation to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign:

Over 20 years ago, the Irish Prime Minister replied to a letter from
this young American, saying that he hoped I would be able “to visit our
country someday”. I have devoted my energy and efforts to encourage
peace and progress in Northern Ireland, where I have lived for the past
15 years.

I have never forgotten my Midwestern roots and American sense of
optimism checked by the pursuit of realistic goals. It motivates all my
work.

While living abroad, I have seen more immediately the negative effects
of poor Executive decision making by the current US Administration.

I have been a huge fan of Barack Obama, ever since his electric speech
at the 2004 DNC. I have promoted Obama’s campaign several times on
local radio interviews in Belfast.

I would like to attend the convention event so that I can share the experience with others, particularly to a European audience.
