I was a bit apprehensive about turning 40 today. I didn’t really tell anyone in the office, but word got out by the end of the day.Met Madame Oui for lunch. Had a yummy piece of hot apple pie and a hot chocolate. I particularly enjoyed opening and reading my birthday cards, which all arrived in the post today. After work, I met up with Madame Oui at the Apartment bar, where we had some delicious drinks: me, a lychee margarita; her, a Route 66. On the way to get the bus, Mom and Dad rang. Mom asked if I felt any different. “Yeah, I feel old!” I told her that we’re going out on Saturday night for a meal and drinks. At the end of the call, Mom said, “My baby’s 40!”, to which I laughed. Talking to Mom shall always keep me young.
