The Society’s opening event for 2007/2008 was a very well attended temaki sushi party held at the Canyon guest house on Saturday September 8th, 2007. Temaki sushi is a style of sushi where we can choose from a wide selection of prepared ingredients to add with rice to a nori (seaweed) sheet to make your own favourites. The ladies of the Society laid out a magnificent and further extended spread of ingredients that was gratefully lapped up by members, family and friends, who made, and thoroughly enjoyed, their very own sushi. It was also great to see so many new faces at the opening event. The beautiful weather on the day permitted enjoyment of the garden. This was especially true for the children, who collected tadpoles and froglets. The event appeared to be thoroughly enjoyed by all present and is likely to be a foretaste of future events in 2007/2008.
