A long successful result

How tired am I? With about 10 hours sleep over two days, I'm planning
on spending most of the weekend lying low. It was a long and successful
result for the Alliance Party. I may have only got 521 votes (1.1%) in
Fermanagh & South Tyrone, but this was double the 2003 result. I
also took pleasure in beating Robert McCartney (UKUP) and Michael
McManus (Ind.).

But
the real delight was seeing South Belfast candidate and party
colleague, Anna Lo, elected — Northern Ireland's (and the UK's) first
Chinese elected representative in any regional assembly. We had worked
very hard for this, and it was very rewarding to make it happen.

There's much more to say. I'm just too tired to compose!
