Madame Oui and I belong to the Japan Society of Northern Ireland
The society’s opening event for 2006-07 was a temaki sushi party.
Tamki sushi is where you take a piece of nori (seaweed) and make your
own piece of sushi with various ingredients. Think Japanese fajita.
Afterwards, there was a musical presentation. Hanae-san beautifully
played tunes on a lyre, while our previous Japanese teacher, Sumi-san,
sang children’s songs with others. The weather was sunny and warm, and
I had a wonderful time.
