Michael Meacher MP argues in the Guardian
that the centralisation of power to the British Prime Minister must be
reversed by a democratic renewal. He offers specific suggestions. This
issue reminds me of a friend who said to me, “It would be great to be
Prime Minister. There is so much power, more than an US President.”
Indeed, the reliance upon an unwritten constitution for a fair division
of power at Westminster is increasingly revealing its faults.
